Master craftsperson of the month – Inmaculada Amor

Inmaculada Amor has been selected by the Traditional Building Cultures Foundation and INTBAU Spain as master craftsperson of the month for June 2026.

Inmaculada Amor continues the tradition of Forjas Amor, the workshop founded by her father, Santiago Amor, in Palencia in 1971. Specialising in artistic ironwork, grilles, and architectural metalwork, she has built a career dedicated to the preservation of traditional forging techniques and to the study of the craft’s history, drawing on decades of research and professional practice.

Following the closure of the family workshop, she has continued her practice independently as a blacksmith, sculptor, and educator. Her work combines traditional forging and assembly techniques with a strong commitment to teaching and outreach, helping to preserve and pass on the knowledge and skills of the craft to future generations.
