Fernando Torrent García has been selected by the Traditional Building Cultures Foundation and INTBAU Spain as master craftsperson of the month for August 2026.
Fernando Torrent García has more than thirty years of experience in ceramics. His work includes the reproduction of medieval and Mudéjar ceramic elements, encompassing the entire process from mould-making and the production of individual pieces to their installation on site, as well as the production of ceramic elements for Art Nouveau and Neo-Mudéjar buildings and the creation of ceramic murals for interior and exterior settings. He works primarily with stoneware, iron-rich clay and porcelain, using glazes, slips and oxides for surface finishes, and combines traditional techniques with experimentation in new materials and processes.

His notable projects include the reproduction of tiles for fourteenth-century vaults in Zaragoza, the restoration and replacement of Art Nouveau, Mudéjar and Neo-Mudéjar ceramic elements in Teruel, collaboration in the restoration of traditional pottery workshops, and various architectural finishes using trencadís mosaic and different types of traditional tilework.
