The jury of the Richard H. Driehaus Architecture Competition, after evaluating the ten candidates sent by Spanish municipalities for the 2022-2024 call, has determined that those that best fit the objectives sought are those presented by La Fresneda, in the province of Teruel; Baltanás, in the province of Palencia; and Irurita, in Navarra. The jury also highlighted with special mention the one presented by Cartagena (Murcia), which could be the subject of future calls.
As in previous editions, the second phase of the competition will be aimed at national and international architects and urban planners, who will be able to submit proposals for any of the three locations selected in the phase one.
The second phase of this edition, due to reasons beyond the organization of this Competition, has to be delayed, probably until 2024.
