Palau Cerámica de Sariñena S.A. has been selected by the Traditional Building Cultures Foundation and INTBAU Spain as master craftspeople of the month for March 2026.
The family company has a long tradition in the craft, dating back to 1875, when it began its activity in Alacelles (Lleida). It specializes in the production of terracotta floor tiles and various types of brick, including the Aragonese handmade brick, the solid Aragonese brick, as well as red, pink, and rustic bricks.

The process begins with the extraction of clay, carried out by the company’s own workers. In the milling area and silos, the different types of clay are sorted and prepared. The craftsmen then shape the bricks by hand and arrange them to dry in the open air. Once dry, they are fired in a Hoffmann kiln. Finally, the finished products are palletised and stored in the yard. The artisanal nature of the process means that no two pieces are identical, resulting in a rich variety of chromatic nuances that are very difficult to achieve through industrial methods.
