The National Archaeological Museum in Madrid hosted the Building Arts Awards Ceremony on Thursday, 18 June. During the event, the municipalities selected in the first phase of the Richard H. Driehaus Architecture Competition 2025–2027 were also announced. The Building Arts Awards recognise the leading masters of the building trades in Spain.
Both initiatives are promoted by the Traditional Building Cultures Foundation, with the support of the Spanish Ministry of Culture and in collaboration with INTBAU Spain and the Higher Council of the Colleges of Architects of Spain (CSCAE).

This year’s edition recognised the achievements of master stonemason Gaëtan Chapel in the masonry and stonework category; carpenter Ramón Cañil González in the carpentry category; brothers Manuel and Jacinto J. Pérez Entrena, specialists in traditional pebble paving, in the traditional finishes category; and the Toledo-based workshop Hijos de F. Potenciano in the traditional metal and glasswork category.
Aracena (Huelva), Frigiliana (Málaga), and Sahagún (León) have been selected in the first phase of the 2025–2027 Richard H. Driehaus Architecture Competition.
