With the support of the Ecuadorian Corporation for the Development of Research and Academia (CEDIA), the course “Construction Techniques and Timeless Principles: Tools for 21st-Century Architecture” has been delivered for faculty members of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL), the School of Architecture at the Universidad Católica de Cuenca, and its extension in Azogues.
The aim of this initiative has been to update the knowledge of architecture faculty members in southern Ecuador regarding timeless architectural principles, and to highlight the importance of incorporating the fundamentals of traditional building, architecture, and urbanism into university education. The programme has sought to promote an architectural practice that is more beautiful, sustainable, and in harmony with its surroundings.

The programme has had a total duration of 40 hours and has taken place between 17 September and 17 October 2025, with a final in-person phase at the participating universities. In total, more than 50 faculty members have benefited from this training.
The course has represented a significant step forward in international academic cooperation and in the integration of traditional architectural values within contemporary university education.
