Taller de Cerámica SOT has been selected by the Traditional Building Cultures Foundation and INTBAU Spain as the master craftspeople of the month for February 2025.
The Taller de Cerámica SOT began its activity in 1984, founded by Joaquim Toribio and Manel Diestre, later joined by Jordi Salvador. Its main work focuses on the restoration and preservation of ceramic elements in architectural heritage.

They have two production lines. On one hand, the more traditional approach is based on the creation of waxed stencils, using – as far as possible – the same clays, oxides and dyes that were used in the old days. This process implies mastering other techniques such as modelling, the use of moulds, and the potter wheel, among others. They also use the les trepes technique, which involves metal, wood or cardboard templates that enable them to easily reproduce any type of motive.
