2026 International Conference on Traditional Building, Architecture and Urbanism

The seventh edition of the International Conference on Traditional Building, Architecture and Urbanism, organized by the Traditional Building Cultures Foundation, will take place in Seville from November 13 to 15, 2026. The deadline for submitting presentation proposals is September 28, 2026.

The Conference will cover a range of topics related to traditional architecture, urbanism and building cultures, and will include a specific thematic area dedicated to Seville, its architecture, heritage and urban development. The in-person programme will include lectures by international architects and specialists, debates, and demonstrations by master practitioners of traditional building crafts.

The Conference will also be available online, as all sessions will be streamed live, recorded and subsequently published on the Conference website. The programme will also be complemented by a series of pre-recorded lectures related to the contents of the forthcoming issue of the Journal of Traditional Building, Architecture and Urbanism.

– Submission of Proposals –

Researchers, academics and professionals working in these fields may submit proposals in the form of presentations of built projects or research papers until September 28, 2026.

Selected proposals may be included in the in-person or online Conference programme, published in the forthcoming issue of the Journal of Traditional Building, Architecture and Urbanism, or selected for both. Authors will be notified of the acceptance of their proposals around October 5, 2026.
