Next Thursday, September 18, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., the public reopening of the exhibition “Matter. Know-how. Place.” will take place at the IE Creativity Center, located in the Real Casa de la Moneda in Segovia.
Anyone interested is welcome to attend this event.
The exhibition, which explores the active role and possibilities that building trades offer in the teaching and contemporary practice of architecture, will be open to visitors until October 11.
It features the work of the 2024 and 2025 Building Arts Awards winners, the winning design proposals from the sixth edition of the Richard H. Driehaus Architecture Competition, and a selection of projects by the master craftspeople and apprentices who received Donald Gray Building Arts Scholarships in the most recent edition. The exhibition also includes a section dedicated to the academic and research work promoted in this field by Wesam Al Asali, architect and professor at IE School of Architecture and Design.

As part of this collaboration, the Traditional Building Cultures Foundation, IE University, and the IE Creativity Center have organized a series of practical workshops led by renowned master craftspeople, representing different traditional building trades. The workshops will take place on September 22, 23, and 24 at the IE Creativity Center, and on October 2 and 10 at the Palacio de Mansilla, the new IE University campus in Segovia’s historic center.
