The programme aims to ensure the continuity of traditional techniques and their transmission to new generations of craftspeople who will help preserve and practise them. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This call received <strong>more than 80 applications<\/strong>, reflecting the growing interest in learning traditional crafts and highlighting the importance of supporting initiatives that foster their continuity and transmission.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This initiative is organised by the Traditional Building Cultures Foundation, with the support of the Spanish Ministry of Culture and in collaboration with INTBAU Spain.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the review of the applications and the selection process carried out in collaboration with the masters, the following grants have been awarded:<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; <strong>Training grant with master stained-glass artisan Anna Santolaria Tura<\/strong> &#8211;<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"724\" height=\"542\" src=\"https:\/\/culturasconstructivas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Becas2026-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27465\" srcset=\"https:\/\/culturasconstructivas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Becas2026-1.jpg 724w, https:\/\/culturasconstructivas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Becas2026-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/culturasconstructivas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Becas2026-1-600x449.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 724px) 100vw, 724px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The selected candidate is <strong>Luc\u00eda Fructuoso T\u00e9bar<\/strong> (Armilla, Granada).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luc\u00eda holds a degree in Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage from the University of Granada and has furthered her training with an Advanced Vocational Diploma in Artistic Stained Glass at the Le\u00f3n School of Art. Her career has focused on the preservation and restoration of stained glass, with training that combines the study of heritage preservation principles with knowledge of the materials and techniques specific to the craft. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She has undertaken practical training in specialised workshops, where she has participated in a range of stained-glass preservation and restoration projects. These experiences have strengthened her commitment to pursuing the craft professionally and have enabled her to deepen her knowledge of the principles and methods required to work with historic stained glass. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The grant will allow her to build on this training, refine her technical skills, and develop greater autonomy and professional judgement in undertaking future restoration projects.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8211; Training grant with master carpenter Miguel \u00c1ngel Balmaseda &#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"724\" height=\"542\" src=\"https:\/\/culturasconstructivas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Becas2026-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27462\" srcset=\"https:\/\/culturasconstructivas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Becas2026-2.jpg 724w, https:\/\/culturasconstructivas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Becas2026-2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/culturasconstructivas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Becas2026-2-600x449.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 724px) 100vw, 724px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The selected candidate is <strong>Manuel Jes\u00fas Sequera Prieto<\/strong> (\u00c9cija, Seville).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Manuel Jes\u00fas is a carpenter and cabinetmaker and represents the fourth generation of a family dedicated to the craft. He trained alongside his father in the family workshop, where he learned traditional woodworking techniques. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With two decades of experience, he has specialised in the reproduction and restoration of historic doors and furniture. His work includes various pieces and ornamental elements for the Church of Ca\u00f1ada Rosal, the restoration and construction of doors for the Church of La Merced in Osuna, and the making of devotional cases for the Church of Santa Ana in \u00c9cija. His experience also includes carpentry and cabinetmaking for traditional houses and cortijos across Andalusia.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Training alongside Miguel \u00c1ngel Balmaseda will allow him to broaden his knowledge of traditional structural carpentry (carpinter\u00eda de lo blanco) and cabinetmaking, complementing the experience he has acquired in the family workshop. His aim is to refine his practice and keep these inherited techniques alive through their application to the restoration and reproduction of historic pieces and their transmission to future generations. <\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Foundation would like to thank everyone who submitted an application for the time they dedicated to the process and for their interest in helping to ensure the continuity of these crafts.
