David de la Mano<\/strong> has been selected by the Traditional Building Cultures Foundation and INTBAU Spain as master craftsperson of the month for April 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

David de la Mano is a sculptor working in stone and wood. He combines his activity as a craftsman with research in stonemasonry and the teaching of artistic carving in Villamayor (Salamanca). In his professional practice, he masters both direct carving and the use of the pointing machine, and works with both traditional techniques and tools as well as new technologies applied to the craft. <\/p>\n\n

David works in both public and private spaces, across different scales, and shows a particular interest in the development and promotion of stone as a sculptural material. His approach is grounded in the conviction that stone deserves renewed attention in the contemporary artistic field, including a significant role in architecture and the city. In this sense, he seeks to reaffirm its tradition and its potential as a medium for artistic expression and as a support for the creation of enduring works. <\/p>\n\n
